Bozena Komarkova book

Sunday, September 19th, 2004

Joyce Mauler Michael has translated a book which may be of interest.

Bozena Komarkova, a Czech dissident, who was a theologian/philosopher/historian professor at Masaryk University in Brno, wrote and delivered lectures on Human Rights and the Rise of the Secular Age. Her work is profoundly insightful. I have been greatly helped to understand our age by reading her works which are so thoughtfully and capably translated by Joyce Michael, with help from Peter Stephens. Joyce and John preach a sermon with incorporates her insights along with their experiences. It is a moving testimony to a people who have survived many oppressive take-overs of their small country.

She may be able to get copies of it for people who want one and bring it for the Nov. 6 meeting.

If you would like a copy of this book for $12, Joyce will see if she can get them from the limited edition now available. Let Bev know so she can forward the information to Joyce.

Bev reminded us to make sure that our passports are up to date.

You can get the forms at your local post office, but do you really want to go down to the post office more than you have to? Of course not.

Well let your fingers do the walking… online of course!

Head out to the United States Post Office website at http://www.usps.com/passport/. You can download and print passport application forms.

You need Adobe Acrobat reader. It’s free. It’s also linked to the page where you can download and print.

If you are AAA member, I think you can get a free passport photo at a local office. Call your agent.
